Dr. Arthur Miskin is a native South African, born and raised in Pretoria. In 1980 he qualified as a medical doctor and went on with postgraduate studies in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, qualifying in 1988. He spent eight years in private practice during which time he was converted to Christ, at the age of forty. Soon after conversion he felt strongly called to Christian ministry. A further five years were spent as chief specialist at the 1 Military Hospital. In 2001 a providential door was opened for him to study an M.Div. degree at the Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI, as a member of the Heritage Reformed Congregations of North America. Upon qualifying in 2005, he was called and sent back to South Africa as a missionary by the Heritage Reformed Congregation of Burgessville, Ontario. His current obligations include theological education at the Mukhanyo Theological College in KwaMhlanga, South Africa, where his main area of instruction is in the area of Practical Theology and Hermeneutics. He is also the pastor of the Reformed Church, Tshwane, located in Pretoria. This congregation started as an English church plant within the mainly Afrikaans medium Gereformeerde Kerke van Suid-Afrika and is at present affiliated with the Gereformeerde Kerk Rietvallei [Reformed Church, Rietvallei] in Pretoria. Together with his wife, Sonja, who also is a medical doctor, he is involved in mercy ministry to terminally ill HIV/AIDS patients in the KwaMhlanga, situated in KwaNdebele. See Nakakela.
