Dr. Brian Wingard is a citizen of the United States, who has spent most of the last twenty years in Africa; the past three years in South Africa. He is the product of a Christian home, where he came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. Dr. Wingard has a Ph.D. from Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia) in Historical and Theological Studies, as well as previous ministerial and theological degrees. He is sent to Africa by the foreign missions committee of his denomination, the Orthodox Presbyterian Church of North America, of which he is an ordained minister. He is now a traveling member of the Reformed Church Tshwane upon whose council he serves as an elder. Before coming to South Africa Dr. Wingard has served in various theological colleges in East Africa, as well as one in the horn of Africa. His major responsibility as a missionary is serving as a Senior Lecturer at Mukhanyo Theological College in KwaMhlanga, where his primary responsibility is in the field of Systematic Theology (Dogmatics). Before his ordination as a minister Dr. Wingard spent a number of years working in the retail industry in the southern part of the United States. Dr. Wingard’s wife Dorothy also serves at Mukhanyo as a part time instructor in English. They have no children.
